Mobile app development

Mobile app development in Ethiopia: Android and iOS

We build Android and iOS apps that work well on the phones and networks people in Ethiopia actually use: fast on mid-range Android phones, usable offline, and available in Amharic, Afaan Oromo and English. Every app comes with a web admin panel and connects to the systems you already have.

On site anywhere in Ethiopia

Our team travels to clients all over Ethiopia, from Addis Ababa, Adama, Bahir Dar, Hawassa, Dire Dawa, Mekelle, Gondar and Jimma to every other town, for workshops, installation and training, with remote support between visits.

How long does it take to build a mobile app?

A focused first version usually takes from a few weeks to a few months, depending on features and integrations. We agree a timeline after discovery and deliver in stages so you can start using the app early.

Android only, or iOS too?

Both. We can build one cross-platform app for Android and iOS from a single code base, or a native app when a project needs it. Most users in Ethiopia are on Android, so we test carefully on common Android phones.

Can the app work in Amharic and Afaan Oromo?

Yes. The app can be offered in Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Tigrinya, Somali and English, and users choose their language.

Who owns the app?

You do. The app is published under your organisation's store account and the source code is handed over to you.

Does ELIF work outside Addis Ababa?

Yes. Our team travels to clients in every region of Ethiopia for workshops, installation, data migration and training on site, and supports them by phone, Telegram and remote session between visits.
